Over 50 thousand square meters of road surface are restored on the M-4 Don highway in the Rostov region

To ensure traffic safety, road builders work day and night at the section from 933 to 1024 km of the M-4 Don highway in the Rostov region.

The 24-hour monitoring of the road surface condition has been arranged, and over 140 units of machinery are employed. In total, road surface defects have already been corrected over the area of 51 thousand square meters.

At the moment, efforts to restore the roadway are carried out at the sections from 933 to 950 km and from 995 to 1007 km towards Novorossiysk, as well as from 1007 to 1024 km towards Moscow.

Road builders apply cold recycling technology that enables repairs to be made using old asphalt concrete pavement as a component for a new one. Recycling machines crush the old coating, and during the process, strengthening additives and special stabilizer additives are mixed in. This improves the resulting road base quality, which is then covered with two layers of asphalt concrete.

Among the technology's benefits are its efficiency and eco-friendliness. The old road surface is used as construction material, and the volume of imported materials is minimized. Another important benefit is the time savings. The technology allows to cut the time required to carry out repair works compared to traditional methods of restoring road surfaces without compromising the resulting quality.

It is scheduled to finish all works at the section from 933 to 1024 km of the M-4 Don highway in the Rostov region in early March this year.
