At the reconstruction site of the M-3 Ukraine highway in the Moscow region, works began on laying asphalt concrete

Road builders have started constructing new traffic lanes at the section of the M-3 Ukraine highway from 65 to 86 km, from Bekasovo to the border with the Kaluga region, where large-scale reconstruction is currently underway. About 38.8 thousand sq. m of the top layer of the road base and 28.8 thousand sq. m of the bottom layer of blacktop have already been installed. On the whole, road construction workers are going to install blacktop over an area of more than 950 thousand sq. m.

Also, road structures, such as bridges and overpasses, are being erected on the site. Work is underway to install a pile foundation for the construction of an overpass, which is part of the transport interchange with Moskovskaya Street, as well as bridges across the Berezovka and Istya Rivers. Besides, the construction of supports for a bridge across the stream at the 68 km of the M-3 and overpasses as part of transport interchanges with the regional roads Nefedovo - Dedenevo and Kotovo began.

The road builders are also engaged in constructing the roadbed of the main road course for the construction of additional lanes, reorganizing communications, and installing culverts. In the aggregate, 436 workers and 139 units of machinery are engaged at the construction site.

The 65 to 86 km section is part of the large-scale reconstruction of the M-3 Ukraine at the 65 to 124 km section spanning from Kievskoye to Maloyaroslavets. The project stipulates the expansion of the road to 6 lanes at the 65 to 102 km section and to 4 lanes at the 102 to 124 km section. To avoid at-grade intersections and ensure connectivity of the adjacent areas, 13 transport interchanges are to be built. Instead of zebra crossings, road builders will construct 11 overpasses.

Once the reconstruction is complete, Moscow, Naro-Fominsk, Balabanovo, Obninsk, Maloyaroslavets will be connected by a safe motorway fitted with an automated traffic control system and lighting along its entire length.

Getting from Kaluga and Bryansk to Moscow will become much faster and more comfortable. Transport accessibility of the largest industrial parks in the Kaluga and Moscow regions, such as Vorsino, Obninsk, Kotovo and others.

It is slated to complete the works and open traffic along the renewed section from 65 to 86 km in 2026.
