At the reconstruction section of M-1 "Belarus" highway, 60% of grading completed
Large-scale reconstruction goes on in Odintsovo municipal district of Moscow Oblast at the 66-
84 km section of the M-1 "Belarus" highway. By now, 60% of the sub-grade construction works
have been completed out there.
Besides, between Kubinka and Dorokhovo, operations are carried out at three road structures
— two overpasses and a bridge across the Kapanka River, where monolithic supports are being
erected. The piles have already been driven and the foundation frames concreted for both
supports. At km 74, the earth fill of the future traffic interchange is being installed and the
foundations of the overpass are being built. The professional crews are also busy setting up
culverts.
The activities are carried out in a compliant manner to ensure safe passage for the duration of
the construction operations.
At the reconstructed section of the M-1 highway it is envisaged to expand the road course from
four to six lanes. It is also planned to eliminate at-grade intersection of traffic flows, supply
lighting and install crash barrier. This will augment the motorway throughput and ensure
comfortable and safe road use. Furthermore, for the convenience of drivers and their
passengers, a rest area with all modern amenities will be arranged at km 74 of the highway.
There are 12 road structures to be built at the section in total. These include two bridges over
the Nara and Kapanka rivers, four overpasses and six footbridges.
Currently, over 900 workers and 350 units of machinery are employed at the construction site.
The section is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2026.
