The Avtodor State Company was created both to construct and maintain highways and to develop roadside services which so far leave much to be desired in this country.
Where can people eat, wash, repair vehicles, and spend the night during a long journey? To answer the question Avtodor made inspection trips from April 13 to May 21, 2010 along two highways – M-1 and M-4 – transferred to the trust management of the state company.
The monitoring group was accompanied by business and media representatives - Opora Russia public organization of small and medium businesses, Association of International Road Carriers (ASMAP), journalists from At the Wheel magazine, Gazeta.ru online outlet, and Rossiyskaya Gazeta daily. Roadside servicing facilities were assessed on the basis of consumer technologies, i.e. range and quality of services from the point of view of the consumer.
The monitoring revealed both strong and weak sides of roadside services and formed the position of the state company regarding improved quality of services provided to users of highways of the state company. The collected data will be shortly analyzed and work will begin to design a complex plan of roadside services development. The results of the analysis will be posted on the website of the state company.
