More than nine million vehicles drove along M-11 Neva Highway in 2020

The traffic density on the highway was more than 23,000 vehicles per day within the period from November 1, 2019 to November 23, 2020, and on peak days is estimated at more than 37,000 vehicles.

Almost 33 percent of cars drove along the route from Tver to St. Petersburg from January 1 to November 23, 2020. That is, every third vehicle drove at a time along the route from Tver to Kolpino or the Ring Road, with the length of 460–475 kilometers (208–668 or 208–684 kilometers). The 'pendulum' route from Kolpino to St. Petersburg and back (668–684 kilometers) was also popular among motorists in 2020 – 15.1 percent of the total number of passes.

It should be reminded that the President of Russia Vladimir Putin gave personally the official start of traffic along the last section of the Federal M-11 Neva Highway, adjacent directly to St. Petersburg, on November 27, 2019. The highway passes six constituent entities of the Russian Federation. It starts from Moscow Ring Road in Moscow, then comes through Moscow, Tver, Novgorod and Leningrad Regions, and is adjacent to the Ring Road in St. Petersburg.

Neva Highway is operated on a paid basis. The discount with a T-pass transponder for travel from Tver to St. Petersburg is 30%, and members of the loyalty program have an opportunity to receive an additional discount from 3 to 15%.

This is the first highway built from scratch in the modern history of Russia. 337 artificial structures and 30 transport junctions were constructed. The highway meets the parameters of the highest technical category with four lanes. The counter flows are separated, there are no single-level intersections with other highways.

At the end of 2020, M-11 Highway was recognized as the best infrastructure project of federal significance. The corresponding prize of the National Award for Achievements in Transport and Transport Infrastructure "Formula of Movement" was presented to the State Company Avtodor on November 22 within the XIV International Forum "Transport of Russia".
