The first cars will drive on CRR-4 at the end of this year

24/7 construction works are carried out on the fourth launch facility of the Central Ring Road (CRR). Currently, the primary route is almost 95 % complete.

The fourth launch facility of the CRR is almost 97 kilometers long. It unites M-7 "Volga" and M-4 "Don" Highways. The road passes the southeast of Moscow Region: the urban districts of Elektrostal and Domodedovo, as well as Bogorodskoye, Pavlovsky Posad, Voskresensk, and Ramenskoye urban districts.

Currently, the workers are finalizing the largest transport interchange of the Central Ring Road. It is situated on the overlapping of the first (territory of Podolsk, Domodedovo and Larger Moscow urban districts) and fourth launch complexes, uniting both sections with M-4 "Don" Highway.

This four-level interchange is 2.5 km long. It amounts to one third of the total length of all bridges, crossovers and elevated roads of the fourth launch complex of the CRR. The metal structures weigh 12.5 thousand tons, which is almost equal to two Eiffel Towers.

CRR-4 is the road of the highest technical category containing four lanes (two in each direction). The counter flows are separated, throughout the highway there are no traffic lights, crossroads or pedestrian crossings. In general, six traffic interchanges, more than 70 crossovers, elevated roads and bridges will be built here to the total length of 7.5 km.

Taking into account that the third launch complex of the CRR uniting M-11 "Neva" and M-7 "Volga" Highways has been operating since this November, with the launch of new CRR-4 for traffic at the end of this month, motorists will be able to get from M-11 to M-4 in less than two hours.

In 2021, sound barriers will be finalized, as well as interchange ramps, roadside development, and installation and startup of automated traffic control system.
