About 17 million transactions have been conducted since launch of Free Flow system on CRR

Two years ago, on June 24, 2019, the span construction was closed on one of the largest structures not only of the third launch complex, but the whole Central Ring Road – the bridge over Moscow Canal. The first cars drove through the new structure less than a year and a half later. The total bridge length with approaches is 1,410 meters, the peak height is 28 meters. The total weight of metal structures is 9,500 tons.

The length of the third launch complex of the CRR is 105.9 km. It passes through the North and Northeast of the Moscow Region from the intersection with M-11 "Neva" Highway to M-7 "Volga" Highway. The section was commissioned on November 11, 2020, and traffic intensity after opening was 3,000 cars per day. Today, 16,000 cars per day on average pass CRR-3. The peak traffic intensity of 26,000 cars per day was recorded before the holidays on the occasion of the Day of Russia.

At the end of December 2020, the road workers opened the traffic to 96.9 km of the fourth launch complex (from M-7 "Volga" to M-4 "Don" Highway). Then the traffic intensity on CRR increased to 6,000 cars per day. Currently, on average 19,000 - 20,000 cars per day pass CRR-4. The peak traffic intensity of 29,000 cars was recorded on June 11, 2021.

There is toll passage on these two sections of the Central Ring Road. A new toll collection system named Free Flow is applied there. The frames with special equipment are installed on the highway instead of traditional toll collection points with barriers. The system automatically classifies the cars and recognizes state registration numbers, calculates the travel costs, and generates a check for each vehicle owner. Almost 17 million transactions were conducted via it as of June 24, 2021.
