Five Pontoon Crossings Set Up on M-12 Highway

Works on a temporary pontoon crossing over the Tyosha river at Section 4 of M-12 highway in Nizhny Novgorod Region are completed. To ensure the passage of construction equipment, it is planned to set up eight pontoon crossings in total, with the support of the Ministry of Defense.

Pontoons have been already set up across the Pyana river (two crossings) in Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Sura river in the Chuvash Republic (Section 6), and the Sviyaga river (Section 7). Crossings over the Vadok and the Vatma rivers at Section 5 in Nizhny Novgorod Region, and the Myosha river at Section 8 in Tatarstan are being developed.

Trial asphalt-concrete layers are laid on four sections of the future road. Their respective lengths are 1.6 km at Section 0 in Moscow Region, 5 km at Section 3 in Vladimir Region, 0.2 km at Section 4 near Murom, and 0.7 km at Section 7 in the Chuvash Republic. In total, 7.5 km of the asphalt-concrete bottom layer of the highway are laid.

Twelve factories for asphalt-concrete production and ten concrete facilities have been built at the construction sites. Ten thousand people have been called up to prepare the territory. A total of 3,682 units of equipment are deployed at the sites of M-12 highway.
