1.1 million tons of asphalt concrete will be laid at Stage 5 of М-12 this year

The progress at Stage 5 of М-12 in the Nizhny Novgorod region was reviewed by Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of Russian Highways State Company, and Zhuo Lei, President of CRCC International.

He came to Russia from China on a working visit, including to see in person how the work is going on at Stage 5 of M-12. General construction contractor at this stage is CRCC Rus JSC, other contracting organizations are Autoban, RSK, etc.

Following the inspection, a meeting was held featuring representatives from contracting and sub-contracting organizations. It was also attended by Mars Gazizullin, First Deputy Chairman of the Board, experts from the State Company and Avtodor-Engineering, designers and builders.

The meeting outlined further interaction steps.

According to the schedule, it is planned that the Arzamas to Kazan section of M-12 Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod – Kazan federal road, including Stage 5, will start carrying traffic in December 2023.

As was noted by Vyacheslav Petushenko, achieving this goal set by Russian leadership depends on well-coordinated teamwork – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Zhuo Lei affirmed that.

Once a severe flooding subsided, contractors resumed making the earth bed. The first meters of asphalt concrete this year were laid at Stage 5 of M-12.

This year, works at Stage 5 stretching 108 kilometers will involve 1.1 million tons of asphalt concrete, 650 kilometers of cables, 280 kilometers of barrier railings and 6,200 lighting poles.
