Four cryogenic refueling stations have opened on the M-11 Neva highway

Four cryogenic refueling stations have been opened on the Russian Highways road network since the beginning of this year. They are located within the existing multifunctional road service zones (MFZ) at 176th km and 594th km of the M-11 Neva highway in both directions.
The cryogenic refueling stations are equipped with modular cryogenic automobile refueling units for receiving and storing liquefied natural gas and refueling vehicles. Also, their territories are equipped with operator's buildings designed to manage technological processes and service highway users.
The new facilities have become an addition to the previously placed gas infrastructure on the territories of MFZs located at 423rd km and 665th km of the M-11 "Neva" highway in two directions.
It is important to note that Russian Highways' high-speed highways have seen a significant increase in gas filling stations placed as part of MFZs along the entire route from St. Petersburg to Kazan along the M-11 "Neva", the Central Ring Road and the M-12 "Vostok".
For example, a cryogenic refueling station is operating at the MFZ located at 258th km of the outer side of the Central Ring Road. In addition, a total of three cryogenic refueling stations are currently operating on M-12 "Vostok". Two of them are located at 665th km of the highway in both directions, and one of them is located at 233rd km towards Moscow. Another cryo-filling station is planned to be installed on the same kilometer on the way to Kazan in the second quarter of this year.
Thus, at 12 MFZ locations, drivers can use gas infrastructure services when traveling from St. Petersburg to Kazan. This significantly improves comfort and safety when traveling long distances on high-speed highways.
Modern MFZs have formed a new high standard of service. By combining a number of functions from fuel infrastructure to catering, recreation and a quality public environment on one site, the most important principles of user comfort are ensured. In addition, they contribute to the development of transportation connectivity, service infrastructure and improvement of the quality of the road environment, and become regional growth points.
