Transit traffic on the M-11 "Neva" highway in the direction of St. Petersburg has increased ahead of SPIEF-2026

Russian Highways State Company has recorded an increase in traffic activity on the M-11 "Neva" highway in the direction of St. Petersburg on the eve of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Compared to the same days of the previous week (May 25-27) the volume of transit traffic in the direct direction increased by 28%, and the total traffic flow on the route Moscow - St. Petersburg increased by 14.5% on average.
The change in the traffic structure is indicative. If a week earlier the share of transit trips in the direction of St. Petersburg amounted to about 9% of the total flow, during the forum days it reached 12%. Thus, every eighth vehicle on the highway follows a long-distance route between the largest economic centers of the country.
In total, from June 1 to June 3, more than 9.3 thousand vehicles traveled along transit routes in the direction of St. Petersburg. This is 22.5% more than in the same period last year. At the same time, the oncoming transit flow remained practically unchanged, which indicates the influence of SPIEF on the growth of traffic intensity towards the Northern Capital.
The M-11 Neva highway traditionally remains the key high-speed route between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Modern road infrastructure, multifunctional service zones, recreation areas, as well as a new interchange to Pulkovo Airport allow participants and guests of the forum to choose the fastest, most convenient route.
