Russian Highways and Sibur signed a cooperation agreement

On the margins of the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian Highways and Sibur Holding signed a cooperation agreement.  
The document provides for joint activities to introduce and apply modern integrated solutions that will help optimize the use of natural resources, as well as improve durability and safety at all stages of the life cycle of highways.  
The parties intend to ensure the implementation of the results of research and development work in the construction, reconstruction, overhaul, repair and maintenance of highways. It is about the use and development of modern technologies and materials. For this purpose, the companies plan to raise the qualification level of employees in the field of innovative technologies.  
A separate focus of cooperation will be joint work between SIBUR and Russian Highways on the climate agenda, including carbon regulation. In addition to increased durability and reliability, polymer solutions for road infrastructure are characterized by a significantly lower carbon footprint over their entire life cycle compared to traditional materials, which helps to simultaneously extend the service life of facilities and reduce total greenhouse gas emissions. The parties will explore opportunities for joint initiatives for road infrastructure using polymer solutions.
