Russian Highways and the Republic of Tatarstan signed a cooperation agreement

On the sidelines of the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of Russian Highways State Company, and Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, signed an agreement on long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation. The document provides for the development of urban planning and industrial potential within the catchment area of the Russian Highways road network.
The signing of the agreement will strengthen joint activities and give impetus to the successful implementation of promising projects aimed at the development of the region's territories along expressways.
In 2023, traffic was launched on the M-12 Vostok highway from Moscow to Kazan with a length of 810 kilometers. This has had a significant impact on the economy of the regions in the highway's gravitation zone: the inflow of investments has increased, housing construction has grown, new jobs have appeared, various areas of industry are developing, as well as tourism.
The agreement envisages several directions. Among them are plans to develop roadside infrastructure and residential development in the territories adjacent to the highway. The agreement also covers issues related to the location of industrial enterprises, production facilities, transport and logistics centers and determination of the territories' potential with regard to further development.
Special attention will be paid to the exchange of experience in the application of digital technologies and program complexes in their activities, as well as the search for new areas of cooperation.
